Vitamin D: 25 mcg from lichen (167% DV)
D3 is the better studied form, but nearly all D3 comes from sheep’s wool. Ours comes from lichen. That is what makes this vegan.
Iron: 18 mg as bisglycinate (67% DV)
Not the full amount, and that is deliberate. Iron is the most common reason women quit their prenatal, because it is hard on a lot of stomachs. NIH reports that 27.9% of pregnant women already go past the 45 mg upper limit once food and supplements are combined. So we use 18 mg in a form that tends to sit easier. If your provider says you need more, follow them.
Choline: 120 mg (22% DV)
Not the whole requirement, because food does a lot of this work. But in a review of 188 prenatals cited by NIH, only 40% contained choline at all, at a median of 25 mg.
DHA: 250 mg from microalgae
The same omega-3 you would get from fish oil, taken from the source fish get theirs from. No capsule, no fish taste.
Magnesium: 120 mg as bisglycinate (30% DV)
Gentler on digestion than magnesium oxide.
Iodine: 150 mcg (52% DV)
NIH notes that some prenatals leave iodine out entirely.
